Cuisinart DLC-2009CHB Prep 9 9-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless
We got the Cuisinart 9 Cup Food Processor when our old food processor eventually died. This looks very attractive in our kitchen with its brushed stainless steel finish. It doesn’t take up too much counter space and the 9 Cup size is perfect for our needs. It comes with a stainless steel slicing disc (4mm), shredding disc, chopping/mixing blade, dough blade and a plastic spatula. Also included is an instruction book with recipes and a DVD which shows you how to use the machine.
We were amazed at how quiet the Cuisinart DLC-2009CHB 9 Cup food processor is and it doesn’t jig about like our old machine used to when processing heavier foods!
The extra wide mouth on the feed chute of the Cuisinart DLC-2009CHB means we can put whole fruits and vegetables in it which saves on preparation time. It also has an inner cylinder tube to take slimmer/longer vegetables like celery or carrots.
We’ve used this food processor to shred, slice, chop and puree all sorts of foods with ease. It’s also capable of mixing dough although we haven’t used this function as we have a dedicated bread maker machine.
If you have a larger family or like to cook in bigger batches, Cuisinart has some great alternatives to the DLC-2009CHB 9 Cup Food Processor. Here are some you may want to consider (bear in mind that each one steps up a bit in price):
Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14-Cup Capacity Food Processor, White
The Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14 Cup capacity food processor has a white finish and is a more heavy duty unit for preparing larger batches of food. If you normally only prepare small batches of food then you won’t need this machine! As with the 9 Cup, it has a wide-mouth feed chute to save preparation time.
The powerful motor has an alternate speed especially for bread kneading and the unit also comes with a PowerPrep metal dough blade, so it is more than capable of preparing tough dough mixtures. Other accessories that come with the Cuisinart DLC-2014N PowerPrep Plus 14 Cup food processor include a stainless steel slicing disc, a shredding disc, a chopping/mixing S-shaped blade, and a plastic spatula.
Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor 12 Cup
The Cuisinart Elite 12 Cup food processor is a 2 in 1 with a 12 cup work bowl and a nesting 4 cup work bowl, allowing you to use the machine for small or large sized batches. It has a die cast colour finishing.
Like the other models, the Cuisinart Elite 12 Cup Food Processor has a wide-mouth feed chute to save preparation time. It is also one of the few machines that has a blade locking system. It comes with a reversible shredding disc and an adjustable slicing disc, giving you a total of 8 different options, along with a dough blade and a chopping/mixing blade (all stainless steel). A plastic spatula is also included. The SealTight lid ensures no spills or leaks, while allowing for maximum bowl capacity.
Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor 14 Cup
The Cuisinart Elite 14 Cup food processor is basically 3 in 1 with a 14 cup work bowl and 2 other nesting work bowls, a 4 ½ cup and a 11 cup, allowing you to work with multiple sized batches. It has a die cast colour finish.
The Cuisinart Elite 14 Cup food processor has the same wide-mouth feed tube to save on preparation time as the other models. It is also one of the few machines that has a blade locking system. It comes with a reversible shredding disc and an adjustable slicing disc, giving you a total of 8 different options, along with a dough blade and a chopping/mixing blade (all stainless steel). A plastic spatula and an accessory storage case are also included. The SealTight lid ensures no spills or leaks, while allowing for maximum bowl capacity.
This is a large capacity food processor and as such takes up quite a lot of counter space and is heavier than any of the other models. However this design means that it is more than capable of doing heavy kneading.
All the Cuisinart food processors come with an instruction and recipe booklet and an instruction DVD. They all carry a 3-year limited warranty and a 10 year motor warranty. Here’s what other people on-line had to say about them:
MP:
“Bought this to make baby food. It’s wonderful! Easy and fun to use. I love it.”
KS:
“Don’t know how I used to survive without it! I made the best tasting pizza ever with it and it was so quick and easy. It’s phenomenal.”
AD:
“Beauty combined with power and performance. The Cuisinart food processor has it all. I highly recommend it.”
RP:
“It sliced chips out of 2 potatoes in about as many seconds. Great machine.”
